SO Australia’s male Olympic golf hopefuls didn’t quite make it to the medal podium but here’s hoping our all major-winning women’s team of Minjee Lee and Hannah Green can give it a big shake starting Wednesday morning in Tokyo.
Even if they don’t, there will be plenty of great free to air (or at least free streaming) action from the world’s top women golfers over 72 holes at the Kasumigaseki Country Club from Wednesday to Saturday.
Host broadcaster is the Seven Network and while they are showing the Olympics on their main TV channels 7 and 7 mate I didn’t see any of the male competition actual making it to those channels for more than brief highlights. Our viewing of the men’s golf was restricted to streaming on the 7plus app.
With the games in their final week maybe more golf will make it to the main 7 or 7mate coverage but who knows? For the well-streaming set up it probably doesn’t matter.
The women’s golf tees off from 8.30am to 5pm AEST from Wednesday August 4 to August 7.
The 7plus app is designed to allow fans to tune into the golf on any device – you can watch on your smartphone, tablet, computer or stream to a smart TV.
