THE Australian Men’s Senior Amateur Championship is the country’s premier event for senior golfers and will be held this year at Mandurah Country Club in Western Australia from 30 September to 2 October 2014.

Entries are now open for the event, which has an age limit of 55 and a maximum handicap limit of 8.4.

The reigning champion is New Zealander Murray Martin who will hopefully be back to defend his title along with fellow countryman Rodney Barltrop, who won the championship in 2004, 2005 and 2009.

2012 Champion Sam Christie will be vying for another title after finishing runner up last year, whilst three time winner Stefan Albinski is also expected to be in the mix. They are sure to face some tough competition from Paul Maslen (NSW) who currently sits on top of the Australian Men’s Senior Amateur Rankings and the ever consistent Denis Dale (NSW). Locals Ian McPherson (WA) and Graham Bowen (WA) will also be strong contenders looking for a win in their home state.

The event is in its 34rd year in 2014, having been played since 1981.
