Senior 9th in Florida

PETER SENIOR has continued his good form on the US Champions Tour to finish in the top ten at the 2011 Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am at the TPC Tampa Bay, Florida.

After opening rounds of 69 and 68 Senior started the third round in sixth position but like many in the field found the going tougher on the final day and his two birdies on 13 and 17 were cancelled by bogies on 9, 19, 14 and 18.

His one-over 73 put him at three-under for the tournament and tied for ninth.

The event was won by American John Cook, who celebrated his second Champions Tour victory of the year.

Cook rebounded from a double bogey on the final hole of regulation with a birdie on the first hole of a play-off against Jay Don Blake.

Blake (70) had birdied the 18th hole to match Cook on nine-under.

Joe Ozaki (68) and Russ Cochran (74) tied for third at 7 under.

The Champions Tour moves to the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa,  Savannah, Georgia, this week for the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf,  a unique week on the Champions Tour, with legendary names playing a two-man game.
