THE 2014 US Open begins Thursday evening Australian time and a number of Aussie golfers will be on the course when live coverage begins on Fox Sports at 11pm.
Jason Day is usually a star performer in the majors and he will tee off at 9.18pm (AEST) in a group basically described as great players who haven’t won a major. That group includes Sergio Garcia and Brandt Snedeker.
Adam Scott is paired with other recent US Masters winners Bubba Watson and Charl Schwartzel and tees off at 3.25am Friday (AEST).
Matt Jones will be the first of the Aussies to hit the Pinehurst No.2 fairways. He tees off at 9.07pm (AEST) along with Americans Matt Every and Roberto Castro.
Defending champion Justin Rose is paired with reigning British Open champion Phil Mickelson while 2011 US Open winner Rory McIlroy will play with fellow recent champions Webb Simpson (2012), and Graeme McDowell (2010).
Another featured group includes recent British Open champions Ernie Els (2012); Darren Clarke (2011); and Louis Oosthuizen (2010).
