Cheyenne Woods a class act

Larry Canning has been more than impressed by Cheyenne Woods. An opinion he hasn’t always held for other members of the family.

WHEN I think of a golfers with last names like “Woods”, I immediately imagine a ruthless driven competitor who will do whatever it takes to prove he is the greatest golfer ever to lace up a Nike Lunar Control Men’s Golf Shoe which apparently delivers stability and comfort on the course with a Nike Power Platform and springy, resilient Lunarlon cushioning….. Pity this shoe wasn’t around in 1969.

The surname also reminds me of filtered responses to media questions, no autograph’s to the punters and a small army of 6 feet 5 inch men wearing black suits and sunnies who go out of their way to make up for the total lack of eye contact by their employer with the spectators.

As from 6th February 2014 my association with the name “Woods” has been changed forever!

The way I saw it, in last week’s Australian Ladies Masters, Cheyenne Woods is as far from Tiger Woods in personality and demeanour as Clive Palmer is to Arnold Palmer. Cheyenne is approachable, engaging humble and what’s more… It seems to come totally naturally. She has her famous feet firmly planted on the ground and is an absolute natural, warm and beautiful young woman.

And don’t worry, last week’s victory in the European co-Sanctioned Aussie Masters was no one hit wonder… this girl can play her ball!

I know being Tigers niece has opened some doors for Cheyenne, but it’s one thing seeing an opening, and another having the talent and nerve to convert such an opportunity into a career changing victory.

Just when I thought there couldn’t be a more perfect golf professional on the planet than Adam Scott….along comes Cheyenne Woods and throws me into a complete tizz!
