MARCUS FRASER shot an opening round 6-under 65 to trail the leaders by a single stroke at the 2013 Italian Open at the Golf Club Torino.
The 35 year old Aussie was alone in fourth place behind Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts, Argentina’s Ricardo Gonzalez and German Maximilian Kieffer.
Fraser opened and closed his round in the open, officially now called the “70° Open d’Italia Lindt”, with birdies and there were four more in the middle of his day, including three straight from 13 to 15.
Fraser is a two-time European Tour winner but is still searching for his first win this year. His best finish was T2 at the Ballantine’s Championship in South Korea in April when Brett Rumford won with an eagle on the first playoff hole.
