2013 Greenbrier Classic Preview: Leaderboard

Stuart Appleby Featured

STUART APPLEBY shot a well-celebrated  59 in the final round of the 2010 Greenbrier Classic to win the title and wouldn’t he love to repeat something similar.

Appleby hasn’t been in quite that form of late but he is showing some encouraging signs.

He missed the cut at the Congressional Golf Club last week but prior to that made eight cuts in a row, culminating in a top ten finish at the Travelers Championship, his best finish on the US PGA Tour in over two years.

Phil Mickelson is the top ranked golfer in the 2013 version of the Greenbrier, taking place at the Old White TPC at White Sulphur Springs in West Virginia, and there’s also last week’s winner Bill Haas to contend with. Ted Potter Jnr is the defending champion.

Other Australians in the field include John Senden, Robert Allenby, Aaron Baddeley, Steven Bowditch, Greg Chalmers, Scott Gardiner, Matt Jones, Rod Pampling, Cameron Percy and Alistair Presnell.
