AUSTRALIAN golfing great Rodger Davis has fired an exceptional round of four under-par 68 to win the first event of the PGA Legends Tour 2013 South Australian swing.

Davis fired six birdies in his three stroke victory to take the Mini Jumbuck Naracoorte Legends Pro-Am.

Davis was on fire on the front nine going out in five under 31 including five birdies, all before the rain hit.

“I came out for a practice round yesterday as Melville (Proud) said I needed one, what a little gem you have here” Davis said of the Naracoorte Golf Club layout at the presentation.

Players were greeted with cool temperatures and wind along with rain making scoring conditions extremely difficult.

Victorian John Martin finished alone in second place after firing a very respectable one under-par round of 71 in the very difficult conditions.

Defending order of Merit winner Kym Olsen and European Tour member Tim Elliott both fired level par rounds of 72 to finish in a tie for third place.
