2012 Australian Senior Open Preview: Leaderboard

PETER SENIOR is a clear favourite going into 2012 ISPS Handa Australian Senior Open at the Royal Perth Golf Club in Western Australia.

Senior has had another highly successful year on the US Champions Tour and backed up that form with a great weekend at the recent Australian Masters at Kingston Heath to finish in a share of sixth.

The 53 year old finished with two 68’s but will face stiff opposition against some of Australia’s golfing greats in Perth.

They include Major winners Ian Baker-Finch and Wayne Grady, as well as the likes of Mike Clayton, Peter Fowler, Lyndsay Stephen, Rodger Davis and Michael Harwood.

Another stand out on the E-Z-Go PGA Legends Tour this year has been

rookie Professional Kym Olsen of Victoria who has won 12 times since winning his way onto the tour at qualifying school in January.

Olsen was a career amateur until his 50th birthday Olsen will be keen to measure his game against some of the top names in over 50’s golf.

Held over 54 holes from Friday 30 November to Sunday 2 December and with AU$100,000 prize money, the Australian Senior Open is sanctioned with the Australian PGA Legends Tour and the Asia-Pacific Champions Tour.

It is open to professional and amateur golfers aged 50 years and over. Competitors play alongside an amateur partner for the first 36-holes, with the Sunday consisting of the competitors only.

Entry is by gold coin donation with proceeds going to major charities.
