2012 Lyoness (Austrian) Open underway: Leaderboard

SPAIN’S Pablo Larrazábal set the early lead at the 2012 Lyoness Open (formerly the Austrian Open) with a 6-under 64 at the Diamond Country Club Atzenbrug in Austria.

The score would have been a course record but for placing being allowed on the fairways due to the damp conditions.

Closing in on the Spaniard was young Dane Thorbjørn Olesen, who made such a big impression in finishing ninth at the British Open on the weekend.

Australians in the field include Matthew Zions, Brett Rumford, Scott Strange, Kieran Pratt and Wade Ormsby.

The event is being telecast in Australia on Fox Sports with a round one replay Thursday afternoon 4.30 – 6.30 and live round two coverage beginning 10pm – 2am.
