FRESH from a standout year in Europe, Peter Fowler will be a highlight of the 2011 Fiducian Legends Australian PGA Senior Championship in Sydney.
The tournament will again be played at the Killara Golf Club from October 27 to 29 and Fowler’s inclusion will bolster an already impressive line-up.
“I am really looking forward to coming back and being a part of the Australian PGA Seniors Championship in such a big summer for Australian golf,” Fowler said.
The 52 year old is currently leading the European Seniors Tour money list in a stellar year that has included two wins and 11 top ten finishes.
“My form has been really good this year and I am definitely seeing that in the results I have been posting.
“Once I get back to Australia it is my aim to continue my European form and secure a win on the Australian Legends Tour.”
Standing in his way will be a host of well-known names including defending champion Lyndsay Stephen, Wayne Grady, Rodger Davis, Michael Clayton, John Clifford, Michael Ferguson, Terry Gale, Noel Ratcliffe and Stuart Reese.
New additions to the Australian PGA Legends Tour will also be in the mix including Terry Price, Ossie Moore, Ken Trimble and Wayne Smith.
The Killara course and its historic clubhouse should be in immaculate condition for the tournament with the first round getting underway on Thursday October 27.
Spectators are welcome to watch some of the leading over 50’s pros, mostly from Australia but with a smattering of internationals, battle it out for the national championship.
The course is located at 556 Princes Highway Killara and entry is free.
