BERNHARD LANGER streeted the field at the Senior British Open last weekend but the question now is whether he will keep it going when the Champions Tour returns to its regular environs this week.
The answer probably is a resounding yes. Langer now has 13 top 10s in 14 starts this season and doesn’t look like lessening the pressure any time soon.
Langer and Senior Open runner up Colin Montgomerie have a significant lead over the field in the season long Schwab Cup and the pair will probably be fighting it out, or somewhere near the lead, come Sunday.
Scene for the 2014 3M Championship this week is the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.
Defending champion is America’s Tom Pernice Jr, with other featured golfers including Kenny Perry, Jeff Sluman, Rocco Mediate and Vijay Singh.
Australia will again be represented by Peter Senior, who had a less than spectacular trip to the UK, and Steve Elkington, who didn’t make it to Wales.
