Four Aussie golfers lining up in Sweden on the European Tour this week face a tough task at the 2014 Nordea Masters.

The Aussie contenders include Mark Hensby, winner of this event in 2005 (when it was called the Scandinavian Masters), the in-form Richard Green, Wade Ormsby and Brett Rumford.

Hensby beat new world No.2 Henrik Stenson in a playoff to take the title in 2005 but might find the Swede a harder nut to crack at home this time. Stenson’s compatriot Jonas Blixt is another strong favourite at the PGA National Sweden, an unfamiliar venue for many competitors.

“It’s going to be a good week. It’s going to be the busiest week of my entire golf career, but it’s also going to be good fun so I’m really looking forward to it,” said Stenson, who was granted Honorary Lifetime Membership of the PGA Sweden National course earlier in the year.

The defending champion is Finland’s Mikko Ilonen while runaway Race to Dubai leader Thomas Björn, who blew a five stroke lead at the BMW PGA Championship in England on Sunday, might also have recovered enough to mount a serious challenge.
