AN untimely virus has delayed Peter Senior beginning his seventh and final US Champions Tour season but it does has the benefit that it has allowed him to play in the Perth International at the end of February.
Senior has missed his first two planned starts in the US but now has the chance to add the European Tour co-sanctioned Perth event to his long list of Aussie tournament wins.
The 56 year old won the Australian Masters at Huntingdale Golf Club last November to complete the Aussie “Triple Crown” of major titles in his 50’s.

Senior was announced for the Lake Karrinyup Country Club event this week along with new international signings including India’s Jeev Milkha Singh and Italian Matteo Manassero.
They will join major drawcards including South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen, France’s Victor Dubuisson and Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen, the defending champion.
Also confirmed for the event now are five time European Tour winner Brett Rumford, dual Australian Open and PGA Champion Greg Chalmers, Scott Hend (who had a top 10 in Dubai on the weekend), Richard Green, Marcus Fraser, Andrew Dodt, Wade Ormsby, Nick Cullen and Michael Sim.
In all, the tournament will have a field of 156 with players representing more than 25 different countries.
Tickets for the Perth International, on from February 25 to 28, start from $22 and are available through Ticketmaster. Children under 16 gain free entry with a paying adult. For general event information visit www.perthinternational.com
