AUSSIE golfer Peter Fowler has finished second on the 2015 European Senior Tour Order of Merit after the final event of the season.
Fowler shot a final round 2-under 70 to finish tied for seventh in the limited field MCB Tour Championship in Mauritius to secure his runner-up finish on the money list.
First on the Order of Merit was Colin Montgomerie, who had another record breaking year on the senior tour.
The 52 year old Scot birdied his final three holes in Mauritius for a record tournament total of 15-under, three shots clear of his nearest rival Barry Lane of England.
Montgomerie added the title to his previous wins, including the US Senior PGA Championship and the Travis Perkins Masters.
Fowler, who last week failed to earn a permanent spot on the US Champions Tour at their Q-School qualifying, jumped to the top of the European standings with a runner-up and back to back wins in three starts early in the season and subsequently added three further top ten finishes, including T9 at the Senior British Open.
The 56 year old won the Order of Merit in 2011 and has bounced back after being 12th last year.
There isn’t a harder working golfer on any tour and his continued success is just reward.
