GOLF FACILITIES across Australia are gearing up to throw open their doors for GOLF MONTH this October.

The initiative, which has grown from the previous Golf Week promotions, will feature  a variety of activities to encourage new, returning and existing players to get into golf.

GOLF MONTH is open to everyone: those who have never hit a ball, those who haven’t done so for ages, those who need a little help with their aspirations to become a professional or those who are on the course every week.

There is the opportunity for golf enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to benefit from great offers and activities. And for club members who introduce a new member, there is the chance to go in the draw to win a Money-Can’t-Buy 2015 Emirates Australian Open experience.

Golf Australia chief executive Stephen Pitt said the campaign had the full backing of the golf industry.

“GOLF MONTH encourages new and lapsed golfers to rediscover golf as an accessible pastime that provides the opportunity to share this wonderful game, with friends and family in a beautiful outdoor environment,” Pitt said.

A key strategy to this year’s campaign is incentivising current golfers to introduce a new member.

“Research tells us that most people are introduced to the game by someone – personal acquaintances, friends and family,” Pitt said.

“The game therefore has the opportunity to grow by using its existing golfers to be our promoters and to share their love of the game.

“We are also delighted with the support we have received from the industry to this important initiative.

“By harnessing our resources and working together, we are confident that we can make a real difference to growing this great game.”

Aside from having a casual hit, there are over 20 ways to play golf during GOLF MONTH.

You can sample golf at Come & Try clinics, 3,6,9 Hole golf events, open and/or family days, there are also ladies programs, MyGolf junior programs and member guest days, just to name a few.

And if you’re looking to enhance your existing skills, try a lesson or coaching with a professional who can help with golfers of all levels.

The diversity of golf activities on offer extends to new formats of the game where you can play golf in innovative ways such as speed golf, foot golf, urban golf or even the new “big-hole” golf.
