US Champions Tour first major of 2015

Peter Senior SBO 595

THE US Champions Tour plays its first major of the year this week with the Regions Tradition taking place at Shoal Creek in Birmingham, Alabama.

There is a very strong field with defending champion Kenny Perry one of 61 players taking part who together account for an incredible 429 US PGA Tour wins.

Fifty seven of those players have won 337 titles on the Champions Tour. A total of 18 players in the field have won major championships on the main tour and 25 players have won major championships on the Champions Tour.

Nine World Golf Hall of Famer members are scheduled to compete including Tom Watson, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Larry Nelson, Hale Irwin, Tom Kite, Nick Price, Curtis Strange and Colin Montgomerie. (Mark O’Meara is also in the field and will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in July).

Australia’s lone representative will be Peter Senior, still searching for his first Champions Tour win.

TV Times

Some rather Aussie unfriendly timing to begin with the first round live on Fox Sports beginning Friday 2.30am – 4.30am but things improving for the final round live Monday 5am – 7am. You can always record or watch the later final round repeat.
