The award, presented by the Queensland Government, exemplifies golf’s growing appeal as an entertainment offering and the reaction Landers Pocket has received since opening in November 2025.
By incorporating Golf Central into the Landers Pocket expansion, not only were additional bays created in the entertainment-driven play bays and a brand new Landers Links mini golf course added, but an 800-seat dining experience was added alongside an on-site 4 Pines brewery and Never Never gin distillery that seamlessly blends into the golf-centric setting.
In addition to the more than 8 million shots hit on the range and 26,306 rounds of mini golf, Landers Pocket has hosted 246 events and poured more than 71,250 litres of beer in its first 190 days since opening.
“Queenslanders love their pubs and we are honoured to have been voted as Queensland’s Best Pub this Queensland Day,” said Landers Pocket Managing Director, James Cooper.
“Our objective was to create a destination that catered for the entire family and a venue to offer great food, terrific beer, great service and plenty of activities particularly around the great game of golf.
“To be awarded Queensland’s Best Pub after just seven months is particularly satisfying and a terrific accolade for our brilliant team who have work tirelessly to deliver this award-winning pub, day in and day out.”
In presenting Landers Pocket with its award, The Honourable David Crisafulli MP, Premier of Queensland, praised the venue for how it had connected with the local community.
“All the Best is exactly that – Queenslanders backing Queenslanders and getting behind the local spots and businesses that they love,” said Mr Crisafulli.
Just last month, Landers Pocket graciously hosted the Queensland Big Swings 2026-2030 Strategy launch (below), bringing together golf leaders, facility operators, clubs, PGA Professionals and industry stakeholders from across the state to align around a shared vision for the future growth and sustainability of golf in Queensland.
The event showcased the important role innovative venues such as Landers Pocket can play in introducing new participants to the game and creating more ways for people to connect with golf.
A key pillar in the next five-year Australian Golf strategy sets a goal for the more than 1,800 golf facilities Australia-wide to ‘evolve’ their offering to better cater to the modern golfer. This includes activities such as adding new formats to existing venues and to support participation growth and diversify income streams.
The latest State of the Game report from Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia shows that 2.7 million of the 4 million golfers that swung a club last year in Australia did so at a driving range, simulator, entertainment or mini golf venue.
Of those 2.7m, 1.6 million played exclusively at non-traditional golf venues, highlighting the market opportunity that Landers Pocket appeals to so effectively.
“Landers Pocket is a shining example of what’s possible when venues invest in golf alongside an extremely well-executed entertainment experience,” said Damien de Bohun, General Manager – Places to Play, Golf Australia.
“It’s also fitting that Landers Pocket was the venue for our recent Queensland Big Swings Strategy launch, where representatives from right across Queensland golf came together to align around our shared ambitions for the game.
“The venue provided the perfect backdrop for conversations about how we evolve golf experiences, attract new participants and ensure golf remains relevant and accessible for future generations.
“More and more, we are seeing driving ranges enhance their food and beverage offering and existing pubs and clubs adding golf by way of simulators or mini golf to create a more vibrant, fun and family-friendly environment for their patrons.
“We are thrilled that Landers Pocket has been acknowledged as Queensland’s Best Pub. We hope that it shows other venues the growing demand for golf in all its formats.”
