Tom Harold canters home to win 2015 national vets championship in Darwin

IN a commanding performance Darwin local Tom Harold has won the 2015 Australian Veteran Golfers Union National Championship in the Northern Territory.

The 58  year old led by a stroke after the first round at the Darwin Golf Club, his home course, and extended the margin in the second round at Palmerston Golf Club.

The reigning NT Seniors Champion and member of the elite Australian Senior Amateur Team admitted to being nervous in the final round back at his home club but it didn’t show on the final scoreboard.

He beat runner up Chris Rose by 13 strokes, with Ken McNamara from the National Golf Club in Victoria outright third  three strokes further back.
