Six Aussies tackle 2015 Women’s British Open

THE British Opens just keep on coming with the women taking a turn this week at a bit of iconic golfing glory.

A six-strong contingent will represent Australia in a 144 strong field at Turnberry on the Scottish west coast.

New world No.16 Minjee Lee heads an Aussie challenge strengthened by the presence of 2002 champion at this venue Karrie Webb.

The other Aussie participants are last week’s LET winner Rebecca Artis, fellow New South Welshwoman Sarah Kemp and Victorians Su Oh and Stacey Keating.

Defending champion is last year’s surprise winner American Mo Martin, while other strong contenders include world No.1 Inbee Park, 2013 champion Stacy Lewis and world No.2 Lydia Ko.
