2012 Queensland PGA Championship

Andre Stolz one of the top golfers lining up in Toowoomba

The 2012 Queensland PGA Championship returns to the City Golf Club in Toowoomba this week boasting one of its strongest fields in years.

The defending champion is Kiwi golfer Gareth Paddison who arrives in Toowoomba fresh from his win last week at the Victorian PGA Championship.

Paddison, who claimed the 2011 title by two shots over Terry Pilkadaris and Kieran Pratt, will tee off his title defence on Thursday at 11.30am playing alongside 2004 Queensland PGA Champion Kurt Barnes and 2011 NSW Open Champion Adam Crawford.

Other notables in the field include Craig Parry, Andre Stolz, Peter O’Malley, Paul Sheehan, Ashley Hall and Mike Hendry to name a few.

There will also be a number of talented amateurs in the field including 2012 Golf Australia National Squad Members Cameron Smith and Bryden Macpherson.

Play will get under way at the free event at the City Golf Club Toowoomba from 6.30am Thursday with the final round scheduled for Sunday.
