THE European Tour is in Qatar this week for the second week of its three week Middle Eastern swing.
After the first round Wednesday (Aussie time) at the Doha Golf Club England’s Oliver Fisher was in the lead after a 7-under 65 with Spain’s Rafa Cabrera-Bello second just a stroke further back.
Major Champions Ernie Els and Paul Lawrie were part of an 11-way tie for third on five under.
The leading Aussies were Brett Rumford (69) and Richard Green (70), with Wade Ormsby (74), Scott Hend (74), Marcus Fraser (76) and young amateur Antonio Murdaca (76) having work to do to make the cut.
